Manny Pacquiao accepted Floyd Mayweather‘s challenge to fight him on May 5 but it likely won’t be held on the terms Mayweather laid out.


Last Tuesday, January 10, Floyd Mayweather challenged Manny Pacquiao to a May 5 bout via Twitter:

Mayweather is available for a fight in May because his jail sentence for domestic violence was postponed until June. The American boxerwas sentenced to 90 days in jail.

In a news conference, Pacquiao replied to Mayweather’s challenge:

“I want to fight him. This is the fight the world wants,” he said.

Some boxing aficionados believe that Mayweather is only bluffing. But despite Pacquiao’s willingness to fight the unbeaten American boxer, his camp says otherwise.

Pacquiao’s financial adviser Michael Koncz told The Associated Press on Thursday that there’s no economic sense in the proposed May 5 bout because a 45,000-seat boxing arena being built in Las Vegas won’t be finished before the end of May and staging the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight in a smaller venue is not an option.

Meanwhile, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said in an interview that Mayweather is still looking for “outside parties to guarantee his end of the purse.”

“So, until he finds the angel, there is no fight,” he said.

2012 NFL Draft Order

The draft order for non-playoff teams is pretty much set with the exception of one coin flip and the result of tonight's game between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. The Titans will be picking 20th, which is the lowest pick for a team that did not make the playoffs. So that is awesome.  Obviously we will have a lot of time between now and then to look at the pick. The 2012 NFL Draft order for all non-playoff teams is listed after the jump.

DeMarcus Cousins Will Not Play Vs. Hornets, Requests A Trade From Kings

DeMarcus Cousins Kings bigman requested a trade. The horizon changes for the Sactown.

Jan 1 2012, 6 ft and 11 in bigman DeMarcus Cousins demanded to be traded stated Kings coach Paul Westphal.  Before Sacramento hosted the New Orleans Hornets, criticizing Cousins' commitment to the franchise and excusing him from the team's game.

"Whenever a new season begins, in any sport, there is great hope that everything will progress in only a steady, upward direction, Westphal said. As we all know, it seldom happens like that in this life! As coaches, we can only ask that our players do everything they can to improve themselves as individuals and teammates. If they do this with all their hearts, we live with the results. Everything that happens on a team does not become known to the public, Westphal continued. "This is how it should be. However, when a player continually, aggressively, lets it be known that he is unwilling/unable to embrace traveling in the same direction as his team, it cannot be ignored indefinitely"
